Performance Laboratory Testing

Each session includes:

  • Biometric Analysis: precision testing vital health metrics to establish baselines and identify areas for development. 
  • Physiological Profiling: a deep dive into cardiovascular, respiratory, and muscular capabilities to tailor performance strategies.
  • Cognitive Function Evaluation: advanced Neuro-cognitive tasks to map mental acuity and fortitude under stress. 
  • Nutritional Metabolic Screening: insight into individual metabolic rates and nutritional efficiencies, informing bespoke dietary protocols. 
  • Movement Mechanics Assessment: kinetic analysis to optimise movement efficiency and reduce potential injury risk. 
  • Recovery optimisation: evaluation of personal recovery cycles and adaptation to stressors, to fine-tune sleep, rest and recovery protocols. 

As part of the assessment process you will be required to complete an Individual Profile which will include capture key personal information and essential anthropometric, medical and dietary information. 

You will be required to attend one of our three testing facilities located across the UK to complete the assessment where you will complete a battery of tests including:

  1. Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) determines caloric expenditure at rest by analysing respiratory gas exchange, providing a key metric of daily caloric needs.
  2. Metabolic Testing involves measuring oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production during incremental exercise to assess aerobic and anaerobic thresholds.
  3. Lactate Profiling monitors blood lactate accumulation during graded exercise to establish optimal training intensities, reflecting the transition from aerobic to anaerobic metabolism.
  4. Fuel Economy Testing evaluates the efficiency of energy use at various intensities of exercise, determining how many calories are burned per unit of work.
  5. Fuel Substrate Testing assesses the proportion of fats and carbohydrates being oxidised during exercise, guiding macronutrient distribution for energy optimisation.
  6. Nutritional Analysis examines dietary habits and nutrient intake to provide personalised recommendations for optimal health and performance enhancement.
  7. Body Composition Analysis uses techniques like DEXA scans to quantify proportions of fat, muscle, and bone, informing individualised training and nutrition programs.
  8. Cardiac Screening utilises echocardiograms to detect underlying heart conditions, ensuring cardiovascular health and readiness for physical activity.
  9. Cognitive Function Tests evaluate mental performance, including memory, attention, problem-solving, and reaction time to determine how your cognitive abilities are affected by stress, fatigue and environment.

Environmental Chamber testing can also be performed to expose individuals to various climatic conditions, measuring physiological and cognitive responses to heat, cold, and altitude, which helps tailor acclimatisation strategies for a wide range of environments. An additional fee may be required depending on final test battery selected.
