Pip Hare to be supported by Resilient Nutrition in around the globe sailing race

Resilient Nutrition, designers of category-defining, sustainable, nutrition products that meaningfully enhance mental and physical performance, will provide nutritional products and scientific support services to Pipe Hare as she sails in the Vendée Globe 2020 around the world race. The race starts in November 2020, with individuals race single handed non-stop around the globe.

The Vendée Globe is the only solo, non-stop, unassisted, round the world sailing race.  It is considered one of the most gruelling challenges on the planet, taking approximately 70 days to complete, and combines extreme physical and mental exertion. Since its inception in 1989, less than 100 people have completed the race, including less than ten British skippers, and seven women.

On Sunday 8th November 2020, Pip Hare will set off from Les Sables-d'Olonne, France, to sail down the Atlantic, across the Indian and Pacific oceans, then sail back up the Atlantic.

Resilient Nutrition focus on cognitive as well as physical performance in ultra-endurance events. The group has been developing methods and technologies with sister company Optimal X to assess diet and sleep, and to maximise physical and mental performance in preparation and during events.

Resilient Nutrition will supply Pip Hare with a tailored nutrition package to support both her cognitive and physical performance during the 70-day race. Hare expects to sleep a maximum of two hours at any time and Resilient Nutrition will use Its performance monitoring, guidance and optimisation technology to assist in activity and sleep maximisation. At the core of Hare’s diet will be Resilient Nutrition’s Long Range Fuel products which provide ultra-endurance athletes with the optimum diet to ensure maximum performance during sustained cognitive and physical exertion.

The team of scientific, performance, and technical experts will be collaborating with other sponsors and partners including Aparito and Smartsheet to contribute to the success of the campaign.

“Pip Hare is competing in arguably the most challenging ultra-endurance event on the planet.  Through our experience, scientific knowledge and approach we will maximise Pip's physical and mental performance in the race.

Resilient Nutrition spent last year working with Resilient:X, contributing towards the world record breaking row in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. How to feed the mind as well as the body during extreme, isolated, arduous events like this is the kind of space we love.
We have been working closely with Pip on her nutrition and will spend the next six months fine-tuning our technology and products to help her win and ensure we create the greatest impact." - Ali Macdonald, Resilient Nutrition CEO
